Vegas isn't that good. Their 6-0 since they picked up Stone includes wins over a decimated Vancouver team twice, a pathetic Florida team, and a disastrous Anaheim team.

The Flames were the better team when they played last week and I'm expecting them to blow out the Knights tonight.

Re possible injury: I remember Monahan getting absolutely leveled by a vicious cross check to the lower back sometime after Christmas. Not sure which game but it was at least a month ago.. It was right in the slot and it might have been just after the whistle because he was knocked flat on his face as if he had relaxed. No penalty and wasn't mentioned by Hrudi and Ball.

Sound familiar? MB in Montreal is being second-guessed for not going after a backup goalie at the deadline. (Except in Montreal, it means they're getting ready to push him out the door ̶a̶l̶r̶e̶a̶d̶y̶ again.)

None of those pick ups guarantee any of those teams a first round win, let alone a Stanley Cup. Last season all Washington did at the deadline was add some cast off from Chicago named Michael Kempny. No big name rental or star player. They still won the Stanley Cup.

Calgary got where they are without Stone. Time to see how far they can take it.

And even then we'll likely have to go through one of San Jose or Vegas or both regardless. Doesn't really matter what round it is.

We'll be fine. I know we aren't scoring a ton right now but they still have time to fix it before the playoffs and I'd rather this happen now than in the playoffs.

No doubt anyone heard the latest on the injury to Neal, but when he comes back and if he goes on a tear I like our chances. He always seems to play his best hockey last part of the season and playoffs.

You might be onto something... That game was against the Sharks and it was Kane that did it on February 7th. Hasn't exactly been the same goal producer since then.
